Well, it’s taken some time, but I finally seem to be gaining traction on this whole ‘publishing a book’ malarkey.
No, I never got a response to my attempts to find an agent for Bard of Dreams, but that’s okay, because reading back over it, it seems that high fantasy isn’t really my forte.
I’m finding myself in a much better position when it comes to High Moon Rising. My wife was recently doing some research into methods of self publishing, and found that a lot of people are putting out ten thousand word chunks of writing onto kindle at a relatively cheap price, and gaining a lot of traction from it. Whilst she was looking at doing that for her own writing, it occurred that it would also really fit my style of storytelling. I tend to write in arcs, that turn out as short, self-contained stories with an over arching background story. Most of these arcs tend to peak at about ten thousand words.
I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this.
I’m starting to get my plans into place, and at my wife/agent’s behest I’m starting to try and be more sociable and network with other writers. I’m sure you can imagine how difficult that is for me, based on my entries here. So, if you have anything you’d like to say or comments you’d like to make, leave ’em below! I’m nice to just about everybody except myself!
