I am so, so close to finishing Devil’s regiment, but I have to admit, I’m flagging a bit. I’ve literally got one scene to write.
But it’s eleven o’clock at night.
And I have work in the morning.
Part of me is really hoping that I do gain enough success to be able to do this full time just so that I no longer have to stop writing in case I oversleep and miss the bus on weekday mornings! The story is up to 70 pages and 21505 words, but I’m looking at the clock thinking… I have to stop. I’ve got stuff to do tomorrow.
Ironically, despite having hit my target already, I’ve actually written more words today than I have on any other day. It’s the drive to the finish at this point, and then it’s onto the next Jim Ashwood story. It’s been really enjoyable writing Devil’s Regiment, and I’m looking forward to coming back to these characters in the near future.
Of course, the next, more immediate is getting Hungry Mountains ready for launch. I’m mostly happy with the content, but there’s still some proofreading and a couple of little niggling bits to sort out. Thankfully, I’ve still got over a week until launch day, so I’ve got the time in hand.
Anyways, onwards and upwards, as they say. In my case, onwards an upwards up the stairs to bed.
