So, this evening I sat down to plan out the future slurries in both the High Moon Rising and Order Of Britain series, and after doing so, I’ve come to the rather obvious conclusion that I’ve got a lot of work in front of me. Enough, in fact, to keep me going up until May of next year.
I’ve been struggling for the next title in High Moon Rising for the last couple of weeks, primarily because I couldn’t settle on a plot idea. Finally, earlier today I got the story idea settled in my head and roughly outlined. I never really tend to have more than an overview of the story, because I write sequentially. There are lots of writers who can jump around in their story then piece it together, but I’ve never been able to do that. It’s just not in my nature.
I’m really looking forward to the next few books. After the current Order of Britain project I’m writing, everything starts to move forward towards the crossover story I’m planning. The goal is for that to form a three to six book tale that should carry me through the latter half of next year.
In the meantime though, I’ve updated my release schedule. You’ll see a tantalising placeholder in one of the months, and I hope to be able to give you more information on that soon. For now though, the next few titles are up there – and tomorrow I’ll be giving details on the plots going forward.
All power to the engines! Full ahead!
